Here for everyone

Sorority girls ordering at the kosher deli counter beside a man in a black hat, kippah-wearing students outside Texas Hillel at night, a frat party, the kollel at a backyard picnic table. Narration: “He's here for learning, they said. But it feels like he's here for everyone.”

Far West Blvd is a dark-comedy Western in development. In 2006 five Orthodox rabbis move their families to Austin to recruit Jewish students at the University of Texas into religious life. Their founder is funny and brilliant, a local freshman can’t stay away from his classes, and the young women at his Friday table ride home in his car.
